The committee does not want you to know the truth!

The attacks on Violet were untruthful and vile. Those close to her know how she hard she worked for lot owners and how she has suffered because of this. Those responsible should be held to account.

The secretary  put the first motion to the committee after she  met with Violet and suggested that if Violet did not pressure those  controlling the website to take it down, the committee would do things that would hurt her company.

Why would this website cause so much concern for some people on the committee?

Could it be that certain people do not want you to know the truth? Read on and you make your own decisions.

There can be no doubt that significant decision made by the committee executive, and blindly supported by their non elected followers, have not been in the best interest of the body corporate.

  • Roofing damage estimated to have cost lot owners $70,000 due to the actions of 3 people still on the committee.
  • Refusing to call a General Meeting to repair the roof.
  • Excessive legal fees (over $17,000) and excess fees to the body corporate manager ($23,943 more their contract).
  • Failing to follow professional advice in the vegetation management report, then later experiencing lots of cost with tree roots in pipes.
  • Not following the resolution of the body corporate to fix the discrepancy of the exclusive use areas and the fence lines.

In any corporate situation people making such decision would have resigned.

What did the executive of this committee do? Two things:

  1. they tried to silence any criticism of the committee, and
  2. they tried to distraction from their lack of action. by attacking the caretaker, who as vocalising the what the committee had not done,

Self preservation is very strong from certain people on the committee. The executive did not want to discuss the results from the audit requested by the 2023 EGM at the last committee meeting. 

We will have none of that. The following are quotes from the audit, not our words, but direct quotes from the report. Do you really want these people representing you?

A third quote, however, received by the caretaker (but not initiated or sourced by her) from AAA Goodfellas, trading as 1st Class Cleaners, was brought up at the meeting by the Treasurer, Lynne Smith

“The caretaker stated at the meeting that she considered that following a trial cleaning of roofs on the pool buildings by TnS, they offered the best method for cleaning the roofs, however this advice was ignored when compiling the agenda for the AGM.”

not all committee members approved of the documents which were issued for the AGM.”

The explanatory note included by the committee (prepared by Lynne Smith and Danielle Jones) did not specify who had done the trial clean, however it could be inferred from the committee’s explanatory note for each motion relating to the roof clean that the trial clean was done by the companies whose quotes were included

It is possible that the body corporate was mislead into believing that the photographs were of the work of the committee’s recommended contractor, AAA Goodfellas. “

At no time did the committee indicate why it would not call an EGM, nor did they explain why they felt it necessary to seek legal advice at significant cost regarding the legitimacy of the requisition when they knew a meeting was required anyway.”

Had the meeting been called when the committee knew it was necessary, after receiving quotes, the price increase and the unnecessary legal fees could have been avoided.”

Some lot owner have not wanted to oppose those on the executive. With good reason, look at the actions of some of the people that make up the executive. The following are not our opinion, but quotes from the minutes of the committee meeting on the 8th December 2021:

“At this stage of the meeting the Treasurer (Lynne Smith) asked for an apology from a body corporate member attending the meeting, which the member felt they had nothing to apologise for. At this point the Treasurer initiated a verbal attack on a body corporate member attending the meeting. The secretary (Ora Whaanga,) joined the verbal attack”

The complex has not been managed well for sometime, at a committee and body corporate manager level . Allowances for the future have not been made. Look at the history of contributions to the sinking fund since 2009. In one year it was only $198 for each lot for the whole year. Yes that kept the levies down for the lot owners at that time,  but it did not prepare for the future.

It is worth noting that certain vocal, but uninformed friends of  the executive say that this website is biased. Look at voting sheets, these people will vote out of blind loyalty, not looking at what is being asked of them. Why, because they do not like adverse things being said about their friends.

You may have been told that the lot owners who want change ,with the resignation or replacement of some committee members,  are only motivated  for themselves. They will make decision that will be for their own benefit themselves. Nothing is further from the truth. To prove it, we propose a radical suggestion, to show that we want long term solutions and not self gain!

“Any person that has been on the committee in the last 15 years should not nominate or accept an appointment to the committee for the next 10 years.”
